Exhibits from the new V&A Dundee museum of design are to tour around Scotland in 2015.
A "travelling gallery" will visit 78 venues across the country including schools, museums and libraries before a final stop at the original Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The tour will highlight local design heritage at every stop as well as showcasing leading designers.
Construction of the V&A Dundee is expected to get under way next year.
The 17-week "Design in Motion" tour will visit rural communities as well as major cities right across the country, from Fort William to Dumfries and Galloway, between 13 February and 12 June.
The tour concludes in London on 21 June with a stop at the original V&A museum.
A mobile app is being developed by Dundee firm eeGeo to track the bus as it traverses the country and highlight local stories about design over the past 300 years.
Sarah Saunders, head of learning and engagement for V&A Dundee, said she was "delighted" to announce the tour.
She said: "It's an incredibly ambitious project, but one that we feel underlines the scope and scale of the new museum and really allows us to set out our stall as a new national institution."
The V&A Dundee is to form the centrepiece of Dundee's waterfront, which is undergoing a £1bn regeneration.
Detailed talks are ongoing between builders BAM Construction and Dundee City Council, part of the Design Dundee team behind the museum.
Once a price is agreed for the project - originally slated at £45m - a tender will go before the city council for approval before can work begin.
